Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Moto and I am a naturopathic nutritional therapist based in beautiful rural Norfolk, UK.
I originally came to the UK from Japan as a university student in the 1990’s and worked in the transport and logistics sector for over two decades. I worked through nights and kept unsociable hours. I enjoyed the speed and diversity of the industry, and I loved the sense of urgency and adrenaline it gave me.
As human beings, we all go through different stages of life, and our physical, mental, emotional and even spiritual health can be greatly affected by life events and various factors. I had always believed that I was a healthy and energetic person, until about a decade ago, when it hit me that was no longer the case.
I started to experience countless debilitating symptoms which I could only attribute to perimenopause in retrospect. My body was aching all over and could not even lift my arms to do up my bra. I was constantly feeling dizzy and kept falling over. I talked less and less as words refused to enter my head. I stopped the cooking I had always loved as I kept cutting and burning my fingers and all I could feel was a tingle, so preparing a meal became dangerous. I also developed unknown fear and anxiety which made me nervous about going to local shops, let alone socialising. Then Covid hit, and things started to go downhill. I was not living in my own body any longer and I lost control of my brain. I had taken all the medications I was given and suggested, but they only numbed the problems, it was clear I was not getting any better.
Out of desperation, I started to look at my diet, introduced a gentle regular exercise and modified my lifestyle. I also learned to meditate which had never interested me before. Nothing too big. A small, manageable change here and there and I persevered. Tiny baby steps were all I could manage with my achy body and foggy brain. But slowly and surely, I started to feel my old self was coming back which got me thinking “I need to dig deep to understand how this is working”. This is when my journey to study and qualify as a naturopathic nutritional therapist began.
Naturopathic philosophy views people as unique individuals, recognising that each person has a different way of responding to situations whether they are physical, emotional, mental, nutritional, social or cultural. It acknowledges that disruption in one area of the body results in dysfunction elsewhere.
Our body has a natural ability to heal when given the right support. Healing and improved wellbeing come from restoring natural balance and innate vitality. Through personalised nutritional plans and lifestyle modifications, I will work with you to optimise your healing and support continued good health.
As a naturopathic nutritional therapist, my focus is to support your innate wisdom to heal itself under the right circumstances and not only to look at isolated symptoms. Together, we will work to unravel the root causes of your health issues. We will work on long term wellness by integrating naturopathic nutritional therapy, dietary plans, lifestyle modifications and supplementation so that you can start your journey to rebalance and re-energise.
